By means of the configurator functionality, Tacton Design Automation controls which parts and modules are to be used to generate the bills of material (BOMs), complete with specification of the variants and quantities. This generates a displayable BOM in the CAD system that can serve as an engineering BOM (EBOM).
The same information that is used in the CAD system can also be compiled as a parts list in the sales automation solution without using a CAD system. Depending on how the BOM configuration is modeled, multiple different types of BOMs can be generated:
- Multilevel BOMs
- Quantity BOMs
- Spare-parts lists
- Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs)
- Quotation BOMs
- Order BOMs
Multiple BOM types can even be generated concurrently.
