How is an engineering-to-order (ETO) process transformed into a configure-to-order (CTO) process?

With constraint-based design automation, all design variants can be generated automatically in CAD. This is made possible by controlling the CAD model via an efficient configuration rule set. Depending on the situation, fully automated CAD documents can be generated with or without manual review, or the 80/20 approach can be applied (80 percent automated, 20 percent manual). This process is also referred to as CTO(+).
