Braunschweigische Maschinenbauanstalt AG has successfully further digitalized its sales processes. With the help of Tacton Design Automation and Lino GmbH, the traditional company can now rely on a comfortable and error-free configuration of its machines and deliver offers to customers much faster.
Braunschweigische Maschinenbauanstalt AG, BMA, has been developing and manufacturing systems for the sugar industry for over 160 years. BMA plans sugar refineries and factories worldwide and provides equipment and maintenance. Flexibility and a wide variety of variants are required even for largely standardized products such as centrifuges or filling pumps. And it is precisely here that customers of the technology leader from Lower Saxony expect fast and precise quotation processing.
To speed up processes and at the same time minimize errors in variant configuration, BMA was looking for an integrated digital solution. The requirement was that sales staff could advise, plan and configure more independently of designers – ideally at the customer’s site. BMA finally found what they were looking for in the Tacton design and sales configurator offered by Lino.
A strong argument in favor of Lino software solutions and Tacton Design Automation was the complete integration into the 3D CAD system Solidworks® used by BMA. This means that different product variants can be played through directly and the customer has the adapted product in front of him. The stored set of rules automatically controls the selected characteristics and prevents incompatible or incorrect combinations from being played out. A big advantage for BMA: The machine builder can create and maintain the complex set of rules independently via the editor.
Braunschweigische Maschinenbauanstalt AG is highly satisfied with the use of Tacton Design Automation. This is also due to the enormous time gain: While the quotation process used to take four weeks, it is now possible in just over 24 hours.
