In document generation – integrated in product configuration – text, Word, PDF and Excel documents for a variant are generated with a single click. This enables generation of consistent documents with no additional overhead. As a result, a quotation generated using this solution corresponds precisely to the configuration based on the customer’s wishes, and is not merely a general description or a manually pieced-together quotation. Generating more precise quotes in the same amount of time is a decisive competitive advantage that can significantly boost order volumes.
In addition to generating specification documents, parts lists, rating plates and value tables, document generation is also used to generate code. The generated code can control machines in order to fabricate the configuration variant or used in the variant itself.
