Configuration specialist Lino GmbH presents its newly developed integration platform Lino® Hub for optimizing business processes in the manufacturing industry.

The shift toward data-driven business models with automated processes and the integration of digital technologies is essential for competitiveness. Standardization, process automation, and process optimization accelerate order workflows and increase product efficiency. Lino® Hub is an important building block for companies on the path to digital transformation. Business processes become data highways that provide product information across departments and systems.

Lino’s product pages describe Lino Hub as a central integration platform that turns existing system landscapes into an end-to-end digital process chain.

The middleware integrates flexibly into existing system landscapes and supports the order process through rule-based configuration and intelligent interfaces to ERP and PDM/PLM systems. Lino® Hub creates end-to-end, automated processes between sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Lino’s published materials specifically highlight integration with ERP, PDM/PLM, CAD automation, CRM, and web-based workflows.

The configurators in use define product variants through engineering and commercial rules. Lino® Hub integrates powerful configurators such as Tacton or Cosling to support sales teams and customers in product selection. Lino’s own descriptions confirm that the platform is designed to connect rule-based configuration with downstream systems and web interfaces.

By connecting the CAD automation process, engineering data can be generated quickly and at the press of a button, for example to create entries in an ERP system. Automated document generation significantly speeds up the order process. Integrated 3D visualization improves product understanding and the user experience for users. Lino also presents Lino Hub 3D web as a system-independent link between configuration, CAD automation, and web 3D visualization.

In engineering, products are developed and designed so that manufacturing-relevant data can be derived and processed further. Countless variants with many geometric and design parameters are usually the most time-consuming stage and a major reason for long lead times. Lino® Hub accelerates this process with the help of a 3D configurator. Based on parametric CAD models, product variants are configured easily, drawings, bills of materials, and work plans are derived automatically, and they are created in the PDM and ERP system through intelligent interfaces. Lino describes this as part of its broader end-to-end automation approach.

Modern CNC machines now allow derived CAD/CAM data to be processed directly for machine programming. This leads to significantly lower setup times and higher throughput, but it also places high demands on data quality. Lino® Hub supports this process automation with the configurator and CAD automation as well. The CAM program can be triggered immediately after product configuration. Tools, machining steps, and product coordinates are then derived specifically for the configuration and translated into machine code.
