Product configuration directly on your website – without the sales detour

Customers and dealers can independently configure your complex industrial products, calculate prices, and request quotes – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without any manual sales effort.

The Embeddable Self-Service is the successor solution to the API-based Tacton CPQ Customer Self-Service and replaces complex custom development with ready-to-use components – with the same product logic, the same pricing rules, and the same validation engine as in the internal Tacton CPQ.

From Customer Self-Service to Embeddable Self-Service

Tacton has fundamentally modernized its self-service approach. The new generation replaces the previous API-based approach with an embeddable, ready-to-use solution.

Technical Integration

Setup Effort

With Customer Self-Service, the implementation effort was correspondingly high: depending on project complexity, weeks to months of development time had to be planned before the first buyer could use the website for configuration. The Embeddable Self-Service significantly reduces this effort. Thanks to the pre-built components and the direct connection to the existing Tacton CPQ instance, companies become productive much faster – without having to sacrifice functionality or the proven configuration logic.

Configure, Calculate, Buy – without any media discontinuity

Embed Widget

Ready-made HTML components are integrated into your website or web store via drop-in – no custom API development required.

Customers configure independently

Buyers navigate through guided configuration steps based on exactly the same product rules and pricing logic as in the internal Tacton CPQ.

Sales steps in when needed

Your team can view the ongoing configuration at any time, adjust prices, or actively provide support on complex deals – before the quote is finalized.

Quote generated automatically

After the configuration is completed, a valid, approval-ready quote is automatically generated and transferred to your CRM/ERP.

Benefits of Tacton CPQ Embeddable Self-Service

24/7 Sales without additional costs

Your digital configurator works around the clock and generates qualified inquiries – without additional sales resources.

Guaranteed valid configurations

Every configuration follows the same technical rules as in the internal CPQ – incorrect or non-buildable variants are excluded.

Fully embeddable into your website

The widget adapts to your corporate design – no redirecting to external pages, no branding inconsistency.

Sales & Buyer Collaboration

Unlike its predecessor, the sales team can step into an ongoing configuration at any time and actively support strategically valuable deals.

Role-based price transparency

Dealers see their purchase prices, end customers see the list price – your margins remain protected at all times.

Scale revenue without scaling costs

Unlock new markets and customer segments through self-service, without growing the sales team proportionally.

Increase your sales efficiency and customer satisfaction – with Tacton CPQ.

Today everyone has e-commerce. We have fewer and fewer workers and more and more customer demand. Self-service is therefore the only right way forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQs answer questions about model simplification using Lino Simplify.

Here you’ll find answers to questions about automated model simplification in SolidWorks. Learn how Lino Simplify reduces assembly complexity, improves performance, makes reverse engineering more difficult, and protects sensitive design details—without losing important design information.

For which companies is this solution worthwhile?

It is particularly well-suited for manufacturers of configurable industrial products with multiple variants and dealer or OEM networks—essentially, any scenario where customers want to research and configure products independently, without having to wait for a sales representative. The solution scales to meet the needs of everyone from mid-sized machinery manufacturers to global plant manufacturers.

Which systems can be integrated?

The Embeddable Self-Service is part of the Tacton CPQ platform and benefits from its extensive integrations with CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and other enterprise applications.

How does the widget behave when product rules change?

Since Embeddable Self Service uses the same configuration engine and product logic as your internal Tacton CPQ, all product and pricing changes propagate automatically and immediately across all channels – without additional maintenance effort.

Are configurations automatically transferred as orders?

No, not necessarily. You can configure the module so that customers simply submit a request for a quote, which must be manually approved before becoming binding. This allows you to retain full control over the order process.

Can customers see prices without logging in?
That is your decision. The module supports both anonymous browsing without price display and login-based access with role-based pricing. Dealers then see their specific terms, while end customers see the public list prices.

System Integration: The Difference Between Point Solutions and End-to-End Continuity

Manufacturing companies invest millions in CAD systems, PDM platforms, and ERP software. And yet an engineer still transfers part numbers and bills of materials by hand from one system to another. This is not an isolated case. It is standard practice across a large share of the German machinery industry, and it costs more than the original software investment combined.

Engineering Automation: How Mechanical and Plant Engineers Seamlessly Connect Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing

Organizations in mechanical and plant engineering that deal daily with the same product data being maintained separately across CAD, PDM, ERP, and CRM systems know the consequences: errors that propagate through the entire order processing chain and engineers spending their time on routine tasks rather than advancing product development. According to an internal analysis of Lino customer projects, up to 30% of all errors in typical engineering processes originate from redundant, manual data entries between systems. These errors are not the result of insufficient diligence — they are the result of a process architecture built on manual data transfer. Engineering Automation addresses this challenge directly: a data-driven automation solution that integrates seamlessly into the existing system architecture and connects four essential automation layers into a continuous process chain.

Still Planning Facility Layouts on 2D Floor Plans? You Are Risking the Contract!

Assembly changes that only surface on site cost three to five times the original planning expenditure in mechanical and plant engineering. Yet many companies still deliver abstract 2D floor plans to their customers — plans that capture neither heights nor potential collisions. This is not an expression of efficiency. It is a structural competitive disadvantage — and it is fixable.
